Move to Amend

Formed in September 2009, Move to Amend is a coalition of hundreds of organizations and hundreds of thousands of individuals committed to social and economic justice, ending corporate rule, and building a vibrant democracy that is genuinely accountable to the people, not corporate interests.

We are calling for an amendment to the US Constitution to unequivocally state that inalienable rights belong to human beings only, and that money is not a form of protected free speech under the First Amendment and can be regulated in political campaigns.

Reclaim Democracy

ReclaimDemocracy.org works to create a representative democracy with an actively participating public, where citizens don’t merely choose from a menu of options determined by elites, but play an active role in guiding the country and its political agenda. We believe that one’s influence should be a direct result of the quality of one’s ideas and the energy one puts into promoting these ideas, independent of wealth or status.

DUHC – Democracy Unlimited of Humboldt County

Democracy Unlimited of Humboldt County educates citizens about the illegitimate seizure of our authority to govern ourselves. We design and implement grassroots strategies that exercise democratic power over corporations and governments. We seek to create a truly democratic society by provoking a non-violent popular uprising against corporate rule in Humboldt County that can serve as a model for other communities across the United States.

POCLAD – Program on Corporations, Law & Democracy

POCLAD is a group of 11 people instigating democratic conversations and actions that contest the authority of corporations to govern. Our analysis evolves through historical and legal research, writing, public speaking, and working with organizations to develop new strategies that assert people’s rights over property interests.

CELDF – Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund

CELDF’s mission is “building sustainable communities by assisting people to assert their right to local self-government and the rights of nature.”

Wolf-PAC

We must reverse Citizens United, Restore our Democracy, and Save the Republic. Join the Fight for Free and Fair Elections in America!

Get Money Out

We will become an unrelenting, massive organized wave advocating a Constitutional amendment to get money out of politics.  We are using our ability to influence media outlets as a platform to force this issue to the center of the 2012 elections.  We are using The Dylan Ratigan Show to build this digital wave, so join us.

The Alliance for Democracy

Our founder, Ronnie Dugger, said almost twenty years ago, and it’s still true: behind every pressing issue, from global hunger to climate change to growing economic inequality in the US, the problem behind the problem is the overwhelming influence of major corporations on government and policy-making.

Free Speech for the People

To correct the damage the Supreme Court has done to the First Amendment and the Constitution, we need to pass a constitutional amendment of our own that puts people ahead of corporations.

WILPF – Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom

WILPF works to create an environment of political, economic, social and psychological freedom for all members of the human community, so that true peace can be enjoyed by all.

Soldiers for Peace Internaional

Our mission is to bring together individuals and groups who are working in seemingly disparate ways to ensure that our children live in a rational, sustainable world. All social justice efforts lead to the end of war, the ultimate injustice. Those who work for justice are Soldiers For Peace.

Liberty Tree Foundation – Foundation for the Democratic Revolution

Liberty Tree collaborates with organizations and individuals to build strategic pro-democracy campaigns that directly challenge illegitimate power, dismantle oppression, and develop the skills necessary to lay the foundation for a democratic revolution.

Common Cause

Common Cause is dedicated to restoring the core values of American democracy, reinventing an open, honest and accountable government that serves the public interest, and empowering ordinary people to make their voices heard in the political process.

Progressives United – founded by Russ Feingold

To stand up to the exploding corporate influence in our political system by organizing and amplifying the voices of those who believe that corporations have too much power, and by promoting solutions that ensure individual rights and democratic principles are upheld to the highest standards, even in the face of the lawless Citizens United Supreme Court decision.

Corporate Accountability International

Corporate Accountability International is working toward a world where major decisions affecting people and the environment are based on the public interest, not on maximizing corporate profits.

New Rules Project

A program of the Institute for Local Self-Reliance, the New Rules Project started back in 1998 and continues to bring fresh new policy solutions to communities and states to ensure that they are “designing rules as if community matters”.
